PA Sports and Kianush may be very different artists, but they have one thing in common: they are 'Desperadoz'. This is the name of the joint album by the two Ruhrpott rappers. "There won't be any features on the album," PA Sports explains the approach. "The movie we're making together is simply our very own thing." Honest, profound lyrics meet merciless, hard-hitting street edge - an extremely exciting and unerring mixture that only two rappers as straight as PA and Kianush could achieve with such consistency. At the same time, 'Desperadoz' is the starting signal for a new label that we will be hearing a lot more from in the future: Life Is Pain.
Since PA Sports released his first solo album 'Streben nach Glück' in 2011, things have been on a constant upward trajectory for him. A new album followed every year, and the Essen rapper's success grew with each album - and in 2014, his fourth solo album 'H.A.Z.E.' finally reached a more than respectable 7th place in the charts. So it was high time for PA to take his business to the next level and put his own record label on the German rap map. The first signing on Life Is Pain is PA's long-time friend and rap colleague Kianush, who fans may already know from his feature on 'Streben nach Glück' - and in future as one half of 'Desperadoz'. Produced by Gjana Khan, Joshimixu, Cubeatz and a number of talented up-and-coming insiders, there's a common thread running through the whole album that can be summed up in a few words and is incredibly refreshing after a summer full of shallow teen rap music: it's all about getting down on your face.
