Album Description

H.A.Z.E is the fourth solo album by German rapper PA Sports. It was released on January 31, 2014 via the Major Movez label. The album entered the album charts at number 7, making it the artist's most successful album to date.

The majority of the songs were produced by Essen-based producer Joshimixu. These are the titles H.A.Z.E, Die Reise geht los, W.Z.L.L.A.B, Unsere Taten, Unbekannter Teilnehmer, Warum, Falken 2, Für immer loyal, Pasozial 3 and Hiphop. In addition, the songs Hoch, Letzte Nacht and Lass los are the result of a collaboration between Joshimixu and Bad Educated (Hoch), Gee Futuristic (Letzte Nacht) and Cubeatz (Lass los). Producer Gjana Kahn was responsible for the instrumentals of Alles ist gut, Medina and 1 Stunde Ruhm. In addition, producers Juh-Dee, Ilkan, KD-Beatz & Cristal, Cubeatz and Lamagra each contributed a beat to the album.

In addition to PA Sports, various other artists can be heard on the album. German rapper and singer Manuellsen sings the hook of the song Nicht verstanden. Rapper KC Rebell can be heard on the songs W.Z.L.L.A.B and Kamagra, making him the only feature guest to appear twice on the album. Rapper Summer Cem also makes a guest appearance on the latter song. The track Iranis is a collaboration between PA Sports and the rappers Mosh36 and Fard, in which they address their Iranian origins. The German rappers Hamad45 and Kianush are featured on the songs 1 Stunde Ruhm and Warum. On the song Lass los, the chorus is sung by former DSDS winner Mehrzad Marashi. The track Amin, which is only available on the Premium Edition, is a collaboration with the German rapper Alpa Gun.

The first music video for the album, H.A.Z.E, was released on December 8, 2014. The second music video was released on December 22, 2013 for the song Unsere Taten. On January 5, 2014, the song W.Z.L.L.A.B with KC Rebell was released, but without visual accompaniment. Two further music videos, Warum and Hoch, were released on January 9 and January 19, 2014 respectively, before the album was released. The single Lass los was actually supposed to be released on the album's release day, but due to problems with the internet video portal YouTube, it was only released a day later, on February 1, 2014. The last music video was filmed for the track Die Reise geht los and released on February 12, 2014. The video shows excerpts from PA Sports' trip to New York.

Alongside the music videos, a total of three freestyle blogs were published in which PA Sports demonstrated his skills as a freestyler. In each video, a colleague friend of his wrote a total of 15 words on a sheet of paper. PA Sports then had to use these words in a 60-second freestyle.

H.A.Z.E entered the German album charts at number 7, making it the artist's most successful album to date. In Austria, H.A.Z.E entered the charts at number 14 and in Switzerland the album reached number 9.

User Album Review
The reviews for H.A.Z.E were rather mixed. The website laut.de criticizes both the content and the musical implementation of the album. The website rappers.in considers the album to be "well-produced and musical rap", but not much of the album sticks in the mind. Juice, on the other hand, is impressed by the diversity of H.A.Z.E. and generally considers it to be a successful album.

"So here's a brief summary of the topics that PA Sports initially addresses at length on 'H.A.Z.E.': He drives a very, very fast car. It was paid for out of petty cash, of course. Exactly! From the money you'll never see. Not even your girlfriend, who incidentally already had PA Sports a long time ago. If the content is already yawning boredom, why not the music as well? Parham Vakili, PA's real name, must have thought so too. 'H.A.Z.E.' sounds extremely irrelevant and uninspired for long stretches. Irani's rapping is undeniably solid. Every now and then a witty comparison or a nice rhyme construction creeps in. In the long run, however, this is at best in the secure midfield." - Excerpt from the review by laut.de

"PA Sports' skills as a rapper have once again been demonstrated on this album and underline why he is an artist whose music you should have heard before. But tracks that are convincing in all the aspects that make up good rap are unfortunately only to be found in very limited numbers on this release. Without question, this is really well-produced and musical rap. And it's always regrettable when you criticize the changes an artist makes to their music - the sung hooks in particular should be mentioned here once again - and wish they would go back to what really defines them. But that's exactly what comes to mind after listening to 'H.A.Z.E.' several times. Few of the tracks get stuck in your head." - Excerpt from the review by rappers.in

"The diversity on 'H.A.Z.E.' is so convincing that you're happy to overlook the odd questionable beat selection. PA Sports itself seems to be doing extremely well with the further development and musical opening." - Excerpt from the juice.de review
