Amanda Reifer, born Karen Amanda Reifer on March 17, 1991, in Barbados, is a 34-year-old Barbadian singer-songwriter known for her blend of R&B, pop, and alternative music. From age 5, she showed a passion for singing, piano, dance, and songwriting, displaying vibrant creativity. To fund her musical dreams, she worked as a "Red Bull girl" and babysat T-Ray Armstrong, later a bandmate.
In 2010, she formed Cover Drive with T-Ray (drums), Barry Hill (keyboards, guitar), and Jamar Harding (bass). The group gained fame through YouTube covers, signing with Polydor in 2011. Their singles "Lick Ya Down" (UK #9), "Twilight" (#1 in 2012), "Sparks," and "Explode" (feat. Dappy) dominated UK charts. Their debut album Bajan Style (2012) reached #14, followed by Fall Forward (2017) and the EP Liming in Limbo (2013). They opened for Rihanna’s Loud Tour and collaborated with Far East Movement. The band split in 2018 due to an unhealthy environment, prompting Amanda to pursue her solo identity.
Starting her solo career in 2018, she moved to Los Angeles, releasing "Girl Like Me," followed by singles like "Ransom," "Haunt You" (2019), "Rich Bch Juice," "Stty Day" (2020), "Bag," and "Crazy" (2022). In 2024, her album Island Files and the self-written, directed, and edited project The Reifer Files celebrated her Bajan roots with aquatic themes tied to her Pisces sign. She performed underwater stunts for the "B-tch Like Me" video, shot in Barbados. Grammy-nominated, she appeared on What's Up TV (2014) and Britain's Next Top Model (2013). Single and private about her personal life, Amanda continues to shine with her bold, authentic musical voice.
