Clams Casino. What a strange way to start an album description, right? Putting that aside, Clams Casino is one of my biggest influences and a huge point of reference throughout all the time I've spent making beats. Someday, I'd like to release an album in his honor, just as I did with Nujabes, but now is not the right time.
Why am I explaining this? Simple, this album is full of instrumentals inspired by his approach to music making, blended with my own beatmaking style. I wanted to create something that sounded atmospheric and Cloud Rap at the same time. I'm not saying Lil B will suddenly show up and make a song over one of these beats, but I think it's a beautiful sound that shouldn't be lost over time.
To all the Vaportrap fans out there, I hope you enjoy this album. I consider it a great mix of many of my styles, and it's also filled with a deep love for the sound created by Clams Casino.
