Released in 2026, Haneda is the fourth full-length album from German speed metal veterans Cruel Force. Following their return with Dawn of the Axe, the album continues the band's second era with a sound rooted firmly in the raw, energetic spirit of early heavy and speed metal. Furious riffs, pounding drums, soaring guitar work and a strong sense of mysticism combine to create a distinctly old-school metal experience.
Rather than relying heavily on the blackened thrash approach of their early material, Haneda embraces a more traditional speed metal identity, blending the aggression of classic German thrash with the epic character of bands such as Rainbow, Iron Maiden and Virgin Steele. The album's atmosphere is equally important, evoking ancient civilisations, forgotten temples, desert landscapes and other mysterious realms.
Across nine tracks, from the brief instrumental opener "The Cross" through "Whips-A-Swinging", "Savage Gods", "Sword of Iron", "Warlords", "Black Talon" and "Titan's Awakening", Cruel Force balance relentless speed with melodic and atmospheric passages. The 9-minute title track, "Haneda", closes the album with its most expansive statement. With a deliberately natural, powerful production that recalls the sound of 1980s heavy metal, Haneda is a modern recording built around the spirit, energy and mysticism of metal's classic era.
