"Outside" is a song by Scottish DJ and producer Calvin Harris from his fourth studio album, Motion (2014). The song features singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding and was released on 20 October 2014 as a promotional single from the album. It is the second time both artists collaborated on a song together following 2013's "I Need Your Love".
The video, directed by Emil Nava, is about decaying relationships, with Goulding singing lines such as, "Fire's out, what do you want to be?". The video takes this to the extreme, finding both Harris and Goulding in (separate) relationships that are rapidly imploding: there is fighting, screaming, hair-tearing and crockery-throwing. At the end, time stops but Ellie and Calvin do not.
