Artists starting 'The '

I haven't found anywhere that discusses this.
Many artists have names beginning 'The ', and the artists API does not find them if just the name is used, unless there is an Alternate Name specified.
I am trying to get my Kodi music to display information automatically, but am having to adjust things by hand in many cases.
There are several problems here, e.g.:
The Beatles
Beatles, The
Beatles
or a more complicated one:
The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band
Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, The
Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band
The Bonzo Dog Band
Bonzo Dog Band, The
Bonzo Dog Band
i.e. there are more than 2 forms of the name.
Is there any chance of the search doing the 'The' substitution automatically?
Or having several alternative forms of the name, rather than just 1?
Looks like you use MySql, which does have regular expressions.
I'm not suggesting it is easy, but it would be nice.

We simply follow the MusicBrainz naming here, there is an alternative artist name though which you could fill out here.
