Jonas Matsson (born December 10, 1986) is a Swedish singer who gained national attention through his participation in Melodifestivalen 2011. Raised in the village of Frillesås outside Gothenburg, Matsson later moved to Stockholm to pursue a full‑time music career. Before entering the national spotlight, he studied music production and co‑founded a music publishing company together with his partner Pauline Svanberg.
Matsson first emerged publicly through SVT’s Webbjoker competition, where his entry “On My Own” received the highest number of votes and advanced to the final round. The song, written by Peter Autio with lyrics by Sari Autio Olsson, was one of two Webbjoker entries selected for Melodifestivalen 2011. Matsson performed the song in the Luleå heat, where it finished in seventh place.
Following his Melodifestivalen appearance, Matsson released “On My Own” as a single through EMI, making it available on digital platforms such as iTunes and Spotify. He continued writing music both for himself and other artists, often collaborating with his brother Johan Matsson, who also works in music production.
Known for his heartfelt vocal delivery and acoustic‑pop style, Jonas Matsson remains associated with the 2011 Melodifestivalen season and the Webbjoker era, remembered for bringing independent talent into Sweden’s largest music competition.
