TOMORA is the new band formed by Tom Rowlands of The Chemical Brothers and Norwegian artist AURORA. The name is a fusion of their first names — Tom and Ora — and the project grew out of a collaboration that began when Rowlands contacted AURORA after seeing her at Glastonbury in 2016. She contributed to three tracks on The Chemical Brothers’ album No Geography (2019), including “Eve of Destruction”, which became a highlight of their live set. Rowlands later produced material on AURORA’s What Happened to the Heart? (2024). Their debut album as TOMORA, Come Closer, is set for release on 17 April 2026 on Capitol Records — twelve tracks that move from ’60s psychedelia to futuristic electronica. The debut single “Ring The Alarm” was unveiled in December 2025, after months of speculation when the band name appeared on festival posters without anyone knowing who was behind it.
Musically, TOMORA is something different from both The Chemical Brothers and AURORA on their own. The duo describe it as a band in its own right, not two individuals — a point where their respective Venn diagrams overlap in a small, distinct zone that belongs to neither one nor the other. Rowlands’ production is bass-driven and intense, with samples colliding and drums hitting with physical force, while AURORA’s voice adds something ethereal and vulnerable amid the chaos. The result is electronic music that feels both euphoric and unsettling, like moving between the dancefloor and something more existential.
Live, TOMORA promises to be an experience. Their first concerts take place in Manchester and London in March 2026, with visual direction from Adam Smith — the man behind The Chemical Brothers’ legendary light shows. After that come Coachella and a string of European festivals. AURORA herself has warned her fans: bring ear protection. It is going to be loud.
