Movements is an American alternative rock band formed in 2015 in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. The band consists of vocalist Patrick Miranda, guitarist Ira George, bassist Austin Cressey, and drummer Spencer York. Emerging during the mid-2010s wave of emo revival and emotionally driven alternative rock, Movements quickly gained attention for their raw lyricism, dynamic songwriting, and atmospheric soundscapes.
The band first broke through with their 2016 EP Outgrown Things, released via Run For Cover Records. The EP’s vulnerable themes of mental health, self-reflection, and personal growth resonated strongly with listeners and established Movements as a standout act in the modern alternative scene.
In 2017, Movements released their debut full-length album Feel Something through Fearless Records. The album became a defining release for the band, praised for its emotional intensity and melodic depth. Songs such as “Daylily” and “Colorblind” helped expand their audience internationally.
Their sophomore album, No Good Left to Give (2020), further refined their sound with darker textures and broader sonic experimentation. In 2023, the band released RUCKUS!, showcasing a more expansive and energetic direction while maintaining their signature emotional core.
Known for their passionate live performances and candid songwriting, Movements continues to be a prominent voice in contemporary alternative rock.
