Wing, whose real name is Geonho Kim, is a South Korean beatboxer recognized for his precise groove, clean sound, and melodic approach to the art form. He began beatboxing at a young age and is largely self-taught, having developed his skills through friendly exchanges and persistent practice. Over the years, he has evolved into one of Korea’s most prominent beatboxers, competing in major international battles and helping to bring the culture into the mainstream spotlight both at home and abroad.
Throughout his career, Wing has maintained a consistent and successful track record in competitions. His early achievements include winning the BSBC Championship (Solo) in 2014 and securing first place in both the Solo and Tag Team categories (as part of Jackpot with Hellcat) at Mic Monster 2016. He further established his status by winning the Korean Beatbox Championship (Solo) in 2017 and becoming the Asian Beatbox Champion in the solo category just a year later. More recently, he added the Beatbox Legends Championship 2018 (Solo) and the Haten Beatbox Battle 5.0 Grand Championship (Solo) in 2024 to his list of titles.
His success is equally evident at the Grand Beatbox Battle (GBB), one of the most prestigious events in the global community. After reaching the Top 8 on multiple occasions in both solo and tag team categories, he achieved his highest placements to date in 2025, where he earned second place in both the Solo and Tag Team competitions.
Beyond the battle circuit, Wing reached a broader audience through his original composition "Dopamine." The track, performed entirely with his voice, went viral online and garnered millions of views, showcasing beatboxing as a sophisticated musical form rather than just a technical display. This success led to several appearances on mainstream Korean television and performances for large-scale audiences, effectively expanding his reach beyond the niche beatbox scene.
Wing is also a key member of Beatpella House, a South Korean vocal ensemble that integrates beatboxing with traditional singing to create complex, layered musical arrangements. Through their busking performances and televised appearances, the group has played a vital role in increasing the visibility of beatbox culture in Korea, demonstrating its versatility as a collective musical experience.
