Artist BiographyAvailable in:

Jaida Chanel Roby, known as Pap Chanel (born July 7, 2000, in Milledgeville, Georgia), is an emerging American rapper and singer. Raised in a small Southern town with five brothers, she was immersed in hip-hop through Lil Wayne, T.I., Tupac, and Notorious B.I.G., drawing major inspiration from Nicki Minaj’s versatile flow, Foxy Brown’s boldness, and Trina, Eve, and Missy Elliott’s audacity. At age 6, she began writing poetry, soon turning to freestyles, and by 11, she learned the music industry ropes from her older brother.
Her career kicked off in 2015 with Quan DaKing’s single “Add It Up.” She gained traction through major collaborations like “Talk 2 Cheap” with Lil Baby (2018) and “Gucci Bucket Hat” with Future and Blac Youngsta (2020). Signed to Def Jam/Universal, she released her debut EP The Definition of P.A.P. (2018), followed by the Atlanta trap-infused mixtape Pretty & Paid (2020). In 2021, Welcome to Pap World celebrated “country girls” with a sex-positive vibe. Pretty & Paid 2.0 (2022) showcased her six alter egos (“Paponalities”), blending trap and melodic sounds. In 2023, Paptivities diversified her style with tracks like “Left Right” and “Checkmate” (feat. Fredo Bang, Trina). Her third album, The Girl Next Door (2025), solidified her growth into a versatile rapper.
Driven by her motto “Pretty And Paid,” Pap Chanel embodies female empowerment and the ambition of artists from rural backgrounds. With 81,000 monthly Spotify listeners in 2025, she aims to become a leading figure in female rap, turning personal experiences into impactful lyrics.
