Exodus was founded on January 6, 1981. Its members were Brad Poland (guitars), John Kimmel (bass), Mark Laurin (drums) and Sean Emery (rhythm guitars). The name changed to Serpent's Knight in early '83 when Warrel Dane joined as the vocalist.

Guitarist Brad Poland recorded some instrumental songs in 2009, which were included on the "Silent Knight ...of Myth and Destiny" 2-CD compilation.
