Geordie Greep skal tidlig ha fått sin varierte musikkbakgrunn forma av foreldrenes brede musikkinteresse. Derfra ble han kjent med jazz, prog og klassisk. Alt dette og mye mer, tar han med seg inn i sin egen musikk.

Han har ledet bandet Black Midi gjennom tre album. Nå tar de en pause, og han er klar for å imponere på egenhånd. Skiva The New Sound kom ut høsten 2024. Den ble spilt inn i London og Sao Paolo, med en stor mengde dyktige musikere. Uncut kalte albumet “an incredible, accomplished confection”.
