Burkhard Glaetzner (born May 29, 1943 in Poznan ) is a German oboe virtuoso and conductor . He is one of the leading oboe players in Germany.

Burkhard Glaetzner's grandfather was the literary historian Hermann August Korff
He attended from 1958 to 1962, the special school of music Berlin and graduated from 1962 to 1965 oboe studies with Hans Werner Wätzig at the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" Berlin . After that, he was an aspirant for a year .
From 1966 to 1982 he was solo oboist in the Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra . Since 1969 he was also a lecturer at the College of Music "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" , where he was appointed professor in 1982 . In 1992 he was co-founder and vice president of the Free Academy of the Arts in Leipzig . In the same year he went as a professor of oboe to the College of Arts Berlin, today's University of the Arts .
Meaning :
He brought more than 100 oboe concertos from u. a. Reiner Bredemeyer , Georg Katzer , Paul-Heinz Dittrich , Friedrich Goldmann , Friedrich Schenker , Christfried Schmidt and Luca Lombardi for the world premiere.
In 1968, Glaetzner, Wolfgang Weber (violoncello) and Gerhard Erber (piano) founded the trio Aulos, with which he devoted himself to baroque music and increasingly to contemporary music . In 1970, together with the composer and trombonist Friedrich Schenker, he founded the group New Music Hanns Eisler and developed the Ensemble I Solisti Instrumentali Leipzig in 1983 from many years of work with various specialists in the baroque interpretation .
From 1988 to 2003 Glaetzner was artistic director of the chamber orchestra Neues Bachisches Collegium Musicum . Concert tours throughout Europe , Asia and America as well as numerous internationally acclaimed music productions complement his diverse activities as a soloist , conductor and educator .
