On October 28th 1961, Hans Vermeulen started the Sandy Coast Skiffle Group. Other band members were Joldert de Vries, Johan van Boven, Fred van Starrenburg en Onno Bevoort and Jan Vermeulen. The name changed into " The Sandy Coast Rockers" and later into " Sandy Coast".
In 1965 they recorded their first hit single "Being in Love" and in 1966 the band scored their first Top 40 hit with a cover of " We'll Meet Again". The hit "True Love That's a Wonder" reached a third position in the Top 40. After a breakup split up in 1974 but regrouped in 1980 and recorded a near top 10 hit " The Eyes of Jenny".
