Sarah Ferri is a Belgian singer , pianist and composer . Ferri grew up in a Belgian-Italian family in Ghent . She became fascinated early by jazz singers Ella Fitzgerald and Billy Holiday and soul singer Nina Simone , so she started writing songs herself. Other sources of inspiration were the gypsy jazz and the folk .
In 2008 Ferri participated in the Young Wolves music competition in Ghent, which she won.
In 2012 her debut album Ferritales was released , a mix of pop , swing and jazz with mostly cheerful tunes. The second studio album Displeasure was released in mid-September 2016 and, like her debut album, has twelve songs. The tone is a bit darker.
