Strapps was een jaren 70 hardrock band opgericht door Mick Underwood en Ross Stagg. De laatste schreef veelal de muziek en teksten.

De band werd beïnvloed door The Who, David Bowie, Mott the Hoople, Deep Purple, Roxy Music, Led Zeppelin en de Beatles. Strapps toured met Deep Purple en later met de Ian Gillan Band. Na opheffing vertrok dummer Mick Underwood naar de reïncarnatie van de Ian Gillan band, kort Gillan genoemd.
