Wakes is the project of Tim Oxton, based in Boston, Massachusetts (US). Started in late 2012 the ’50s-meets-’80s sensation previously released music under the name ‘Polaroids’, causing a blogging stir with a cover of Grimes ‘Oblivion’.

Coming out of the same Boston scene which has recently spawned the likes of Speedy Ortiz and Pile, Wakes describes his music as “built on a foundation of reverb, misplaced 80s nostalgia, and late nights.”
