Ramón Melendi Espina (Oviedo, January 21, 1979), known artistically as Melendi, is a Spanish singer. His specialty is in music rumba and rock-influenced pop. He took over as coach of the 2012 TV show The Voice, alongside Malu, David Bisbal and Rosario Flores. Months after finishing the program, two artists team Melendi, Paula Red and Maika, released their first single, "Only You" (Paula) and "In your hands" (Maika). After a while, Paula Red has released its first album Once upon a dream of country-pop style. In November and December 2013 he was the driving force behind the new program of the 1 called Generation Rock, which has now ended. He is currently preparing his Latin American tour, and appearing at the International Song Festival of Viña del Mar on 28 February 2014; and Spain and simultaneously preparing her seventh album.
