Formed in Los Angeles in 2005 by guitarist Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, Nightwatchman) and rapper Boots Riley (the Coup), Street Sweeper Social Club crafts self-described "revolutionary party jams" steeped in funk, heavy metal, hip-hop and straight-up blue-collar rock & roll that reflect the duo's progressive political views. The band's eponymous debut album was released on WEA in early 2009.
