Born in Essen, Favorite learned as a child that things in life can change radically and suddenly. When he was 12 years old, both his parents died in a tragic accident. As a result, Favorite had to spend a large part of his youth in orphanages and was naturally very influenced by this time. He had to fend for himself and gained many experiences that shaped him. It was during this time that he first came into contact with rap music. He quickly realized that he simply had to rap and so, at the age of 15, he created his first lyrics and recordings. In 2004, Favorite's demo tape came to Slick One, who was busy founding Selfmade Records at the time. He was immediately impressed by the then 18-year-old's talent, expressive voice and rap style, making Favorite the first newcomer to become a permanent member of Selfmade Records. After his debut with the track "Ruhrpott 4 Life" on the Schwarzes Gold sampler, Favorite went on to work on the album with his rap colleague Jason, which was released in October 2005 under the title "Rappen kann tödlich sein" on Selfmade Records and ensured a perfect debut. After that, he was able to impress with various features, including on the "Zuhältertape" by new labelmate Kollegah. Favorite's first solo album "HARLEKIN" will now be released on January 26, 2007. The productions are by TOP producers RIZBO, FLIPSTAR and JIMMY LEDRAC (SWE). The album title describes the two sides of the now 20-year-old newcomer: on the one hand the humorous and provocative side and on the other the serious and thoughtful opposite side, shaped by Favorite's past. These contrasts are also expressed by the cover, which was designed by Prinz Pi. On "HARLEKIN" it becomes clear what considerable versatility and thematic variation is possible, and this at a consistently high technical level. Favorite's memorable voice and the experimental, always surprising way he uses it, his powerful rap style and, last but not least, Favorite's humor make his rap style unique. Favorite rap is anarchic rap. Rap in a new form.
