Belinda Melany Carlisle (Hollywood, Los Angeles, California; August 17, 1958), known as Belinda Carlisle, is an American singer. Belinda is the second of six siblings. She got her start as the lead singer of the American girl group The Go-Go's, formed in 1978, which she left to pursue a solo career.
In addition to being a singer, she is also a model. In her early years, she appeared in shampoo and makeup campaigns, and in the mid-1990s, she did some lingerie campaigns.
