Hon har beskrivit sig själv som en självstylad gangsterversion av Nancy Sinatra och har bland sina musikaliska influenser Britney Spears, Elvis Presley och Kurt Cobain. Hon har släppt två fullängdsalbum.
Lana del Rey har gjort sig känd för att bli sponsrad av klädkedjor och bilmärken och gjorde hösten 2012 reklam för bl.a. Jaguar och H&M.
