Album Description
Available in:
Be Not Afraid is the fifth studio album by American instrumental rock band Polyphia, released on 23 October 2026 via Rise Records. Marking a significant stylistic departure, the 12-track album pivots away from the bright, softer math-rock fusions of their previous record, Remember That You Will Die (2022), leaning heavily into an aggressive, pitch-black electronic, rave, and dubstep-inflected soundscape.
Co-guitarists Tim Henson and Scott LePage traded their signature clean, melodic strumming for heavily distorted, overlapping guitar lines layered over staggering 808 trap hits, electronic synths, and haunting, pitched-up vocal samples. The album is highly conceptual, woven together by stark religious themes, dark atmosphere, and vocal soundbites rather than guest features. Prominent reviews note that the band sacrificed straightforward "showboating" virtuosity to focus on dense, cinematic world-building that mirrors artists like Skrillex or Perturbator.
