The Earth is now a cold dead place, full of nothing but the endless white of bottomless layers of snow that have covered its whole surface. Alone in this lifeless space sit the only remaining structures that echo the long eclipsed human civilization: two megatowers who serve as supercomputers have stored the data of all history recorded by mankind. Severely damaged by the weather conditions, they are still working to this day but much of their stored content has been corrupted. The following recordings that were found in these towers, might not contain any dialogue that would directly explain the events that lead to this catastrophe, but their sound may give a hint, or at least, show how this world feels.
Let's hope this doesn't happen to us, let's hope that this teaches us to be more careful about our actions and thankful for what the world provides us with.

Update: I wont be manually changing each mention of it down here but I do not consider this a proper LP, more so a demo, to test how much I could improve unfinished tracks some of which being 6 years old in the time frame I had last year and the result clearly does not meet the goals I had for the album's concept. Regardless, thank you for the support, which was way way more than I expected. I hope one day I can properly remake this demo.
ARTIST'S NOTES:
I came up with the name Snow Towers while misremembering the name of a band called Natural Snow Buildings in a dream. This stuck with me and I thought this was a strange and interesting enough name that would also be easily recognizable and thus I decided to keep it as one of my aliases. Then I came up with the lore above.
I've been working on my own music for over 6 years now, this is the first project I publicly release and counts as my debut album. Despite me doing this for over half a decade, I'm not really that good, so keep your expectations for this album very very low. I simply promised to myself in 2025 that this will finally be the year I release something. It's not been a good year for me, in fact it was kinda bad, so I would constantly lose motivation to work on my music. But, my catalogue of demo tracks is big enough that would probably be worth of about 3 albums, so I gathered the ones I'm most proud of and had a similar vibe, made them good enough (for me at least), polished them and made an album. I wanted to make this album for a long time now and be sure this is not the album I was dreaming of. But I believe, getting something done, regardless of its result, just something that sounds good enough for me, and releasing it, could break the curse, it's a step forward, sitting around and doing nothing wont get you anywhere, you know. So despite my lack of knowledge of music theory, production/mixing, general incompetence and laziness, I don't think this is horrible (not just because I have worse stuff), I also can't hide the fact that I'm not 100% satisfied with it but to be honest, my DAW, LMMS, has a lot of issues and inconveniences that got me to make sacrifices or give up on certain things. In the end, I think the fuzzier lo-fi sound could work in the album's benefit due to its themes of loss. I don't want to sound negative, because, really, right now, I'm happy, I did something, it's fine enough for me and I hope whoever finds this enjoys it.
INSPIRATIONS:
I also want to thank some artists that inspired me and helped me go forward with my music production journey, these specific names may not sound like they directly influenced the sound of this album but are important to me for other reasons: Boards of Canada, or rather, their absence, is what sparked my interest to start making my own music. They have a very unique sound that may have inspired others and may have been imitated by some, but nothing really is quite like them, because of their ethos, because of how the approach making music, the ideas they attach to it and the purpose they give it (nostalgia, balance between serene-uncanny sound, cryptic messages, hauntology, etc.), no one has managed to do what they're doing. It's been a very long time since we've had any release by them, so, I never intended to be the next BoC-copycat making chill IDM, but rather, try to make music the way they would approach it. Did I do something like this here? I wouldn't say so, in fact I don't think I'd say I ever did, just the idea of doing music like this pushed me into trying to do something, even if it's not what I had in mind at first. Porter Robinson is an artist that I feel like I know for all my life, all the melodies of all the songs from Worlds have been burned into my brain, to keep this short, the story behind the making of his sophomore album Nurture, what it meant to him and its messages, while I do not relate to him 1:1, it inspired me to keep going no matter what and create what I'm dreaming of. Some obvious names should be here like Kraftwerk, Aphex Twin, Tangerine Dream. But I also was always heavily influenced by the vaporwave scene and Snow Towers I believe breathes signalwave specifically, even if it might not sound like your typical signalwave album (perhaps I did something new for signalwave?). Despite naming signalwave, I wouldn't say I've listened to that much from this subgenre outside of mainly Infinity Frequencies who I bet influenced me to some degree, but I think the most important one is Daniel Lopatin, aka Oneohtrix Point Never, aka Chuck Person, aka the vapor daddy himself. I feel also influenced by the music I listened to when I seriously got into music, progressive rock, like Pink Floyd, krautrock like Can, and especially post-rock, my favorite music genre (Forest Fire is really influenced by Godspeed You! Black Emperor's Static). Oh, also shout out to C418, mainly because of Minecraft obviously (but seriously, check out the rest of his stuff). And another one, TURQUOISEDEATH who's younger than me and is doing amazing drum & bass, I've been to most of his bandcamp listening parties, he's a great guy, he even follows me on RateYourMusic. Anyway, in the end, a bit of everything in our lives influences everything we do, so that's enough for this.
FUTURE
Not all of my music sounds like this, I'd say I have a bunch of IDM and techno and a lot of plunderphonics and vaporwave stuff (I'm actually quite proud of my sample work on a lot of songs I made, not here obviously), so don't expect it to all be Snow Towers. I'll use different aliases, depending on the vibe of the music. But I hope to expand on Snow Towers as well, perhaps remake this one to the LP I was dreaming of once I'm good enough. I just don't know when the next release would be, could be very very very soon, or very very very late. Btw, this is free to download, my music will be available on bandcamp and YouTube, I do not wish to publish my work on streaming services. I also can't do anything for physical releases. Anyway, hope you enjoy this, we'll meet again.
