Expanding the sci-fi narrative introduced on Visitations From Enceladus, the album presents an alternate-reality journey through cosmic warfare, hyperspace anomalies, and surreal extraterrestrial realms. Across five tracks and nearly 80 minutes, Cryptic Shift fuse technical death metal, razor-edged thrash, progressive structures, jazz-influenced musicianship, and atmospheric passages into a dense but highly dynamic listening experience. Featuring standout epics such as the 29-minute “Stratocumulus Evergaol” and the title track, Overspace & Supertime showcases the band’s most ambitious and intricate work to date.
