Emotion Engine was the name given to the hardware featured in Sony's second home console, the Playstation 2. With its monolithic presence and vertical stand, the system seemed like something out of science fiction, and with the success of the PS1 firmly established, the PS2 saw third party publishers flocking to produce evocative games which would have a lasting impact on the hearts and minds of gamers who were there to experience the sixth generation.
Whether it be the multitude of role playing games like the Kingdom Hearts and Suikoden series, or the frenetic and often quirky experimentation of games like Katamari and Parappa the Rapper 2, the Playstation 2 became defined by its boundary pushing titles. This compilation features artists from the vaporwave and electronic scenes, picking songs from their favorite games and bringing them back with style.
