Album Description
Available in:
The EDM era unofficially began with 2011’s “Levels”, the euphoric breakthrough hit from a then-unknown Swedish DJ that would become something of a Rosetta stone for a generation of bedroom beatsmiths and aspiring party-rockers. With its chipper synth melody and sweet Etta James sample, the song brought dance music to a new stratosphere of mainstream appeal and launched the career of the musician born Tim Bergling, better known as Avicii. He’d spend the next seven years as one of the world’s biggest DJs and a producer known to bridge the gap between electronic music and just about anything else—particularly country, as he pulled off on “Wake Me Up” and “Hey Brother”—before his tragic death in April 2018.

Avicii Forever is the second compilation project dedicated to his legacy, fleshing out 2021’s six-track Live a Life You Will Remember EP into a 20-track selection from his vast discography, including the previously unreleased “Let’s Ride Away”, a song Bergling wrote with Kacey Musgraves before his death that now features vocals from country singer Elle King.
