Not a reference to another barber beats artist, but rather Slovene for 'mountains'.
I experienced mandatory nudity for the first time in my life in January 2025. My wife and I went to a fancy thermal spa resort to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary and we discovered that Friday nights, and weekends, after 10pm are 'FKK'.
I thought this was a vulgar acronym but it basically stands for a German term involving 'culture of free bodies' or something like that. In practice, it means everyone gets their kit off, and you either join in or GTFO. We did not join in, thank you very much.
Anyway, seeing so many bums, boobs, foofs and willies all at once in such a short space of time was certainly an experience - we also tried Finnish saunas, where clothing is not allowed (but towels are, thank goodness).
It was in these that I heard actual 'sauna music', which very definitely falls under the barber beats purview. I also found (in an adjacent hotel's reading corner) a very cool Time Life book about mountains, translated into Slovene in 1973, which is what forms the basis for the album cover.
As such, this an album inspired by the above things. Please note that playing this album in an actual sauna may have adverse effects. I'd also like to apologise to any Slovenes for potentially terrible translations...!
