Album DescriptionAvailable in:
Before his progression towards wholly original compositions, Telenights created several strong, unique sample-based albums. From the overtly oppressive soundscape of "剣闘士" to the more classically beat-oriented "木漏れ日", his main prerogative is to try a new concept every time, building upon the last release's foundation on his technical skills.
"Pressure" focuses heavily on playing with his style in both the realms of smooth ambience and tracks with glitchy, forceful cuts, the themes playing off of each other nicely to create a work which ebbs and flows. From action to rest, and then back again, sneaking in breaks and sudden chops to jolt the listener back into the music.
This re-release comes with two additional tracks. 'Les Jazyges' plays more into a cleaner approach to its midsection, working as a palate cleanser to lead into the more antsy nature of 'Dacian Wars', which helps bridge into the final track's ambient outro much more naturally. Both tracks present some extra takes on the sample structure and themes surrounding them, while also providing a much more smooth flow.
