"The Trouble with Normal" is the twelth full length studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Bruce Cockburn, released in 1983 by True North Records. It marks a continuing shift from Cockburn's early folk-influenced and "mystic" acoustic works, featuring electric guitar and synthesizers, but the lyrical themes build on earlier albums. As Allmusic.com writes, the album "contains some of Cockburn's most beautifully imagistic writing to date".
The remastered version of the album released in 2002 contains two bonus tracks, both recorded during the sessions for the album: the romantic "Wanna Dance With You," a reggae number, and "Cala Luna," a moody instrumental.
