Planet X is the first studio album by keyboardist Derek Sherinian, released in 1999 through Magna Carta Records. After Sherinian left progressive metal band Dream Theater in January of that year, he joined drummer Virgil Donati in forming a band also named Planet X. The band's own first album, Universe, was released on June 6, 2000.
