Prison of Desire è l'album di debutto della band sinfonica metal olandese After Forever. È stato rilasciato nel 2000 in Europa. L'album contiene le prime quattro tracce della raccolta di canzoni di "The Embrace That Smothers" di Mark Jansen. Questa raccolta di canzoni tratta dell'influenza e della distorsione della religione nella società umana, un tema che continua negli album di Epica The Phantom Agony e The Divine Conspiracy.
Il brano finale, "Beyond Me", presenta un'apparizione di Sharon den Adel, cantante principale degli Within Temptation.
L'album è stato ripubblicato a giugno 2008 come set di 2 dischi dalla Transmission Records. Sander Gommans ha invitato i fan a non acquistare questa riedizione attraverso il forum ufficiale della band.
