Currently residing in Windsor, Ontario, Dan Griffin is a singer-songwriter/producer best known for his work as a producer and member of multi-Juno Award winning Canadian rock band Arkells. Touring extensively for close to a decade, Dan has had the opportunity to collaborate and share the stage with such icons of Canadian music as Metric, Kathleen Edwards, Tokyo Police Club, Two Hours Traffic, Shad, Sam Roberts and the Tragically Hip. Embarking on his solo career in 2011, Dan co-produced the album Leave Your Love with Howie Beck (Feist, Jason Collett, Hayden). The album later went on to be nominated for a Hamilton Music Award and was featured in the “Song of the Week” iTunes promotion. Songs from the album have been featured on TV’s “Rookie Blue” and “Cracked”, and most recently licensed for a Canadian Tire commercial, which has since garnered over 140,000 hits on YouTube.
Griffin’s new EP, Bordertown was released on August 27, 2013. Like its predecessor, the recordings offer the kind of honesty and nostalgia reminiscent of Bruce Springsteen, Peter Gabriel and Leonard Cohen. Bordertown is a deeply personal effort, rooted in strong song craft and Griffin’s worn and warm vocal delivery.
