User Album Review
Brand New has released their fifth and potentially final album,“Science Fiction” to the masses, and to say or call this a great masterpiece by Jesse Lacey would be a huge understatement. I can say is I’m really at a huge loss of words when it comes to “Science Fiction“ because it can’t be compared to any other album of Brand New’s discography.
This album is based alot into a hopeless wander and one main ingredient of reverence: Hope. The hope of making it out. The hope of no matter how far down, you can be pulled out of your hopelessness. The thing is, we can never lose hope, it’s what keeps us human beings. Without hope, we, the human race would be nothing, and that’s Brand New’s only intention to portray in “Science Fiction” that’s nothing but clear. This is a solid release by Brand New, diving into ideas such as, void of existing, spiraling out of control, melancholy, and some introspective lyrics.
Overall, it’s obvious that Brand New is all about slow-dragging, soul-searing tracks throughout “Science Fiction” and Jesse Lacey’s easygoing vocals round it all together. But, while there are a couple of aggressive tracks the slow solemn approach suits the albums very nicely and keeps a good pace that doesnt lose the listener. I don’t think any other band could have pulled it off the same.
