Artist Biography
Available in:
Japanese harpist, Mai Fukui grew up in Sweden and studied with Masayo Matsuo, Atsuko Yoshino, Susann McDonald, and Germaine Lorenzini. She studied at the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP) in the class of Isabelle Moretti and Geneviève Létang. Supported by a scholarship from Rohm Music Foundation, Mai received her Master’s Degree with Highest Unanimous Honours and a Special Prize from the Jury.

Mai has taught at the Amiens Conservatoire in France, at the prestigious Tokyo University of the Arts and is currently teaching at the Kobe College – School of Music. She has been awarded the “Most Outstanding Teacher” Award from Japan Classical Music Society, five years in a row (2020~2024).
