Hussein Akkouche, professionally known as Samra, is a German rapper of Lebanese descent based in Berlin recognized for his significant presence in the German music scene. His career includes achieving multiple number-one hits in Germany and receiving recognition such as the Hiphop.de Best National Newcomer award.
Samra first gained attention in the autumn of 2016 as a guest performer on Alpa Gun's album *Zurück zur Straße*, notably on the track "Chaos," where he offered commentary on 187 Strassenbande. He was later featured on Mert's album *U21* that same year. In 2017, he was reportedly approached by Farid Bang regarding a potential signing to his Banger Musik label but declined the offer, eventually signing with Bushido's EGJ label. A notable early release was the single "Rohdiamant" in April 2018, which achieved 6.6 million streams in its first week and debuted at number 26 in Germany, marking his entry into the German charts.
Samra reached a significant milestone in November 2018 when he secured his first solo number-one hit in Germany with "Cataleya," produced by Bushido. The following year, he continued his success with collaborations, reaching number one in Germany with Capital Bra on the song "Wir ticken," and releasing the single "Wieder Lila" as a joint number-one track. In October 2019, he released the collaborative album "Berlin Lebt 2" with Capital Bra, which resulted in several number-one hits. Samra has also toured with Capital Bra and released a solo tour titled "Jibrail & Iblis Tour" in 2021.
