Artist Biography
Available in: gb icon
Fracus is a British DJ, producer and remixer known for his work in Hardcore and Hard Dance music, and for his long-running partnership with fellow producer Darwin as the duo Fracus & Darwin. Over a career spanning nearly two decades, he has built a discography as both a solo artist and collaborator that has reached audiences internationally, alongside work as a video game music composer.

He began DJing in 1999, at the age of fourteen, on the pirate radio station Dimension FM, initially performing under the name DJ XL. He went on to work at Flip Records and holds a degree in Music Technology. Fracus broke through in the hardcore scene in 2002 with tracks such as "Forever with Me" and "Shine", produced with his frequent writing partner Gavin G. He subsequently became established as one of the leading artists of the "new breed" of UK Hardcore, releasing numerous singles and appearing on many compilation albums.

From 2009 to 2022, Fracus co-owned and co-ran the Hardcore Underground brand of singles, albums and events together with CDJay, and used it to promote the Underground and Frenzy club nights. In 2020 he founded his own label, Music Blocks Media. As a producer he has contributed music to a range of outlets beyond dance music releases, including DFM, Konami, Next Generation/Blatant Beats, Hardcore Underground, and Nintendo.

Fracus has also been active in broadcasting, having featured on the Hardcore Underground Show on Krafty Radio and co-hosted the Next Generation Records Hardcore Podcast with Brisk. Between 2021 and 2023 he co-hosted regular shows as part of the Bonkers Beats series on Beat 106 Scotland, and in 2023 he launched a new podcast series, Music Kuts, with Darwin.
