DJ Uto is a Japanese trance DJ and producer, and the founder of the record label Quake Records. Known for a style that contrasts boldness and aggression with responsiveness and emotion, he has become an influential figure in Japan's trance scene since making his debut in 1996.

Uto established Quake Records using money he won on the Nihon TV program "Money no Tora," and the label went on to make a significant impact on the trance scene. As a party organizer, he has booked and hosted more than 60 leading international artists, continuing to bring notable acts to club audiences in Japan. He has also performed internationally as a DJ, including a set at the London club Hard House Academy before an audience of more than 5,000 people.

In addition to his DJing and label work, Uto has produced CD mix series including "Quake Trance Best" and "Hard Trance Rave," through which he continues to shape the sound of the trance scene both in Japan and abroad.
