DJ S.K.T (real name Stephen Kenny Tempest) is an English record producer, DJ and label manager from London, working primarily in house and tech house music. He is best known for the 2015 single "Take Me Away", featuring Rae, which reached number 19 on the UK Singles Chart and was later certified silver with over 200,000 sales.
S.K.T began DJing in his early teens, entering under-18 competitions between the ages of 12 and 17, including the Technics DMC Under-18s Battle, where he placed fourth nationally, and BBC Radio 1's "Search for a DJ" (Under-18s), where he placed sixth. His track "Everything You Do" was signed to AATW/Universal Music in 2009, and his song "Worst of Love" appeared on Universal's "Street Nation" compilation, which reached number 2 on the national compilation charts and sold over 100,000 copies. He released the single "Revolution" on Up-Tempo Records in 2012, followed by "Signature Sounds" on Audio Rehab in 2013.
S.K.T's profile rose significantly in 2013 with remixes of Miguel's "Adorn", Somore's "I Refuse" and The Nightcrawlers' "Push the Feeling On", the latter later signed by Ministry of Sound and released as an official single in 2014. In 2014 he produced Little Nikki's "Right Before My Eyes" for Sony/Deconstruction and remixed Oliver Heldens and Becky Hill's UK number-one single "Gecko (Overdrive)". He has also produced or remixed tracks for labels including Strictly Rhythm, Kontor, New State and Rinse FM's Audio Rehab, and worked with artists such as Damon C. Scott, Rachel K Collier and Wilkinson. He delivered guest mixes for Kiss FM UK and Capital Xtra, was resident DJ on BBC 1Xtra Talent in February 2014, and began a weekly show on Kiss FM in 2016.
In 2018, S.K.T released his first compilation album, the triple-CD Pure Tech House, which reached number 1 on the iTunes Dance chart. His 2019 single "Ballers", released on his own label Stashed, reached number 2 on Beatport's main chart and held the number 1 spot on the Beatport Hype Chart for six weeks. That year he also signed with 3 Beat Records, releasing "Certi (Move Your Body)", a rework of Marshall Jefferson's "Move Your Body" featuring vocals by Youngman. In 2020, his single "Round & Round (Boomerang)", a collaboration with vocalist Jem Cooke on 3 Beat Records, was named BBC Radio 1's "Tune of the Week" and added to the Kiss FM daytime playlist, followed by "Love Don't Fade" with Example. Alongside his production work, S.K.T runs the Stashed record label and has performed at festivals including Creamfields, Glastonbury and We Are FSTVL, and clubs such as Ministry of Sound.
