Dylan Marshall Brady is an American music producer, singer, and songwriter raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He is best known as one half of the experimental electronic duo 100 Gecs, alongside Laura Les, and as the owner and operator of the record label Dog Show Records. Before that partnership, he built a reputation as a prolific solo artist and in-demand collaborator, praised by peers and producers for a distinctive, genre-blending sound.
Brady released his debut solo album, All I Ever Wanted, in 2015. The record grew out of an abandoned project titled Party At My Château and featured collaborators including Ottawa rapper Night Lovell and a pre-breakthrough Kevin Abstract. It combined pop songwriting with stark, chaotic production, establishing a sound that other producers would later try to emulate.
After relocating from St. Louis to Los Angeles, Brady released Peace & Love on Diplo's label Mad Decent, a project he described as emerging from lighter, more playful material made in between more serious guitar-based songs he had been working on. His circle of collaborators expanded during this period to include St. Louis peers Pritty, Ravenna Golden, and Lewis Grant, as well as The Neighbourhood's Jesse Rutherford, Delaware rapper Lil West, and Tony Velour. Mixer Jeff Ellis, known for work with Injury Reserve and Frank Ocean, and Brady's manager Cody Verdecias both credited him with a highly distinctive, boundary-pushing production style that brought out strong performances from the artists he worked with.
