Keeya Keys is a British rapper from Hackney, North London, England, who performs under a stage name derived from his given first name, Keeya. He began rapping recreationally under the name Keys Hecate before adopting his current stage name in 2019. His sound draws on UK grime, drill, and afroswing influences, reflecting the soul, jazz, funk, and reggae records he was exposed to growing up. As of 2025 he is an active independent artist based in London, releasing music regularly and building a catalogue of mixtapes and singles.
Keys first drew attention in 2017 when he appeared in a Westwood Crib Session freestyle alongside NSG, the afroswing collective formed by childhood friends he had made music with as a teenager. He followed this with a 2018 appearance on the 14th series of Bl@ckBox before taking a year to develop his craft privately and re-emerging under the Keeya Keys name. His 2020 single "RUUD" became a viral breakout, followed by tracks including "Your Loss", "Haaland" (2021), and "4-4-2" (2021), the latter released as a collaboration with GRM Daily. He recorded a freestyle for Fire in the Booth on BBC 1Xtra in 2021 and has featured on releases by Rudimental ("Be the One", with MORGAN, Digga D, and TIKE) and Conducta. He released the mixtape Keys To The City in April 2023 and the nine-track mixtape F*CKED IT in January 2024, followed later that year by the singles "On Job", "SKATE", and "Salt In The Wound". On 16 January 2025 he released the eight-track mixtape INSIDE OUT, featuring guest appearances from Dide and Scorcher, and followed it with the single "Go (Don't Call My Phone)" featuring Malika.
