Gutrectomy was founded in 2011 in Lörrach by Philip Dahlenburg (guitar) and Yannick Schuler (drums). The original lineup was completed by Dennis Schuler on vocals and Daniel Mahler on bass.
The band released its debut EP Slamageddon in 2014 via Rotten Roll Rex. This was followed in 2017 by their first full-length studio album Slampocalypse, released through Amputated Vein Records. After the independently released single Filius Mulieris Meretricis in 2019, Gutrectomy issued the EP Slaughter the Innocent in 2020 via Rising Nemesis Records.
In 2018, Louis Weber joined the band as bassist, replacing Daniel Mahler. In 2020, Simon Wernert took over drumming duties from Yannick Schuler, before being replaced by Julien Kuny in 2023.
The band’s second studio album, Manifestation of Human Suffering, was released in 2022 through Amputated Vein Records. Their most recent album, ANGST, followed in 2025 via Reality Fade.
