Torchia from Tampere, Finland have been refining their dark and aggressive blend of melodic death metal since their inception in the early 2010s. Through extensive touring in Finland and abroad, the band has gained a reputation for explosive live shows, fronted by the mysterious front figure Nox. Torchia delivers an otherworldly live experience without compromising metallic intensity.

When it comes to melodic death metal, Torchia places a strong emphasis on “death”, both musically and thematically. The band’s fourth album, They Are Born Under Rules of the Darkness, released in May 2026, is a manifesto of this vision. Strange tales of gothic horror unfold in a grim 19th-century setting, while catchy melodies and sharp guitar riffs are designed for the live stage.
