VEGARD from Karasjok first became known to a broad national audience as a contestant on Stjernekamp (Star Battle) on NRK, at just 19 years old. Since then, he has established himself as a versatile artist — as a performer and actor, screenwriter, series creator, and film director.

In everything he does, he is dedicated to promoting diversity. With lyrics in North Sámi, he conveys his reality as young, Sámi, and queer. Through his music, he confronts both macho culture and a culture of silence. With a powerful performance and a shameless message of self-acceptance, VEGARD is an artist you're compelled to form an opinion about. VEGARD made his mark in fall 2025 with his debut single Lohpádus, and in January 2026 followed up with his debut EP Jegolaš, whose title track was featured as Song of the Week on P3. His pop songs, influenced by techno and club culture, have the ability to both move people and give them courage and pride to be who they are. VEGARD thus promises a stage show full of dynamism and explosiveness, one that becomes a celebration of both queerness and Sáminess.
