Girl Group is a pop band based in Liverpool, consisting of Katya, Maria, Thea, Mia, and Lil – four from Oslo and one from Yorkshire. They met at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and quickly formed a close musical and personal bond. By naming themselves Girl Group, they reclaim and challenge the idea of what a girl group can be, pushing back against a male-dominated industry by insisting that everything – from lyrics to production – is created by women.

Their music is raw, playful, and unfiltered, drawing inspiration from club music, post-punk, and alternative pop. Their EP, featuring tracks like Flink Pike and Yay Saturday, explores the pressures faced by young women, the power of friendship, and the strength of femininity. Girl Group isn’t just making music – they’re building a platform for creative freedom, collaboration, and sisterhood in an industry that often feels narrow and exclusive.
