The Dodoz adventure began in 2003 in the city of Toulouse, when four high school friends joined forces to channel their energy into rock music. Géraldine Baux (bass and vocals), Jules Cassignol and Vincent Argiolas (guitars), and Adrien Cassignol (drums) posted their first tracks on MySpace and started touring the region.
In 2006, the quartet entered the CQFD competition organized by the magazine Les Inrockuptibles, played a string of concerts, and won the Radar Coke Festival. A supporting set for Siouxsie at the Eiffel Tower caused quite a stir. The band, becoming the subject of a bidding war, finally signed with producer and label manager Peter Murray (Dolly, Zebda, Silmarils), who supervised the recording of their debut album.
In late 2007, The Dodoz impressed the British press during the In the City festival in Manchester. Released in June 2008, the 5-track EP Dylb gave a first glimpse of the band's potential. The album The Dodoz was finally released in the autumn of the following year. It confirmed the quartet's tight, edgy rock sound, led by the bassist and singer on tracks like "Do You Like Boys?" and "Twice".
Staying true to a sharper rock style, The Dodoz released the album Forever I Can Purr in June 2012, produced by Mike Crossey, who had worked with Arctic Monkeys. This second album was preceded in 2011 by the track "Happy Soldier," which whetted the appetites of fans of straightforward rock.
