José Carlos de Sousa, better known as Carlos Dafé, is a soul singer, composer and instrumentalist. His biggest hit was the samba-soul "Pra que Vou Recordar o que Chorei", a track from the 1977 album Pra que Vou Recordar, released by WEA. He received the nickname "Prince of Soul" from Nelson Motta.
