Javeon (born Javeon McCarthy) is a vocalist and songwriter from Bristol, England. His sound is rooted in R&B and soul foundations, often intertwined with liquid drum and bass. Early in his career, he was a vocalist known by the MC guise of Shadz and part of the Kold Hearted Krew in Bristol at age twelve. His musical style focuses on genuine storytelling with themes of mental health, love, and disjointed relationships. Javeon is currently focused on his work as a liquid drum and bass vocalist, signed to Shogun Audio.
Javeon's early career saw him signed to PMR Records, known for artists like Jessie Ware. He became the first signing for industry legend Fraser T Smith's publishing company, Seventy Hertz. He secured a writing credit on Tory Lanez's platinum album, I Told You. Notable solo tracks from this period include "Love Without A Heart" and "Lost Time," and his voice appeared on records by Julio Bashmore and L-Vis 1990. After a period where he felt disconnected from the pop audience, Javeon shifted his focus to the liquid drum and bass scene in 2017, feeling the genre offered more sonic freedom and an ability to embrace himself as an artist. Since signing to Shogun Audio, his releases include "Connection" (2022), "Aura" (2022) with Duskee, Hyroglifics, and Fluidity, "Lifelines" (2023) with Operate, and "Find A Way" (2024) with Whiney. His most recent collaboration is the single "Calgary" with Simula (2025).
